just after you have left I now need some “visit London” Advise.Gary who i work with has arranged through a friend to take his dad(for his 89th B-day)to Downing Street(he knows the head of security)and wants to go somewhere for a nice drink on the Friday night. They are staying in Victoria.
remit in no particular order of preference Sky Bar or view of part of London, not too noisy(plays havoc with his hearing aids etc),not too far in a taxi as he is not that mobile and don’t want to burn him out for the next morning. He also Loves pubs and a good pint?
any suggestions?Tim Please don’t over think the fact that i have asked you where an 89 year old may like to go for a drink,it just counter balances the envy
when i see pictures of you in far flung parts of the world.

Greetings from Sydney and thanks for the challenge Simon. Not an area we know well but we thought we’d try and help none the less. Did not get off to a good start as it took a while to spot that our google search involving “Victoria” and “Downing Street” had used our location and given a number of Australian options. Rest assured this is jet lag and not the signs of retirement. Once in the right city we did find somewhere called ‘The Speaker” in the right location – old fashioned pub with no music or TV screens. Others may have better suggestions.
